Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and ensure the effectiveness of company HSE and operational directives, maintaining staff competencies and necessary training.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production targets and improve plant performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.
  • Coordinate forward planning with the Weighbridge Operator & Site Manager regarding incoming materials.
  • Manage site maintenance and engineering teams to ensure proper functioning and upkeep of plant equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate a preventive maintenance programme.
  • Prepare regular reports on operational performance, productivity, and improvement initiatives.
What You Bring:
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Plant Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing, recycling, or processing environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience managing small to mid‑sized teams.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, preferably in metal recycling, granulation, or related industries.
  • Ability to work hands‑on and adapt in a fast‑paced, startup environment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment is a plus.

This role offers a salary between £50,000 & £60,000 depending on experience.

Ideal candidates will reside within a commutable distance and reside in the Loughborough, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Ashby de la Zouch, Burton on Trent, Coalville areas.
