Job Description

The Operations Manager manages and facilitates improvements in Health and Safety, Operational Performance, Technical Compliance and Environmental Standards. The role acts as a deputy for the General Manager.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to company Health, Safety and Quality regulations.
  • Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality and Repeatability, measurable and auditable.
  • Liaise with all factory functions to support and resolve operational day‑to‑day issues and prevent re‑occurrence.
  • Develop and adopt standardised ways of working and best practices across the factory.
  • Support management in implementing standardised systems across the factory.
  • Ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure GMP and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.
  • Challenge the ways of working and deliver innovation cost savings; monitor, control and minimise waste.
  • Review staffing levels, build robust succession plans and mentor FLM’s and key players.
  • Champion implementation projects to meet planned cost and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support short and long term projects and provide management cover when needed.
  • Monitor and manage performance against KPIs.
  • Champion site administration and reporting processes.
  • Support other IPS operations within the region as required.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with all customers.
  • Effectively motivate a team of people to meet production targets.
  • Participate in the company’s PDP program and drive own personal development.
  • Conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure.
  • Champion best practice across the site.
Qualifications
  • Experience of managing a Manufacturing / Co Pack Operation.
  • People Management experience – motivate, support and manage a large team.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Experience of working successfully within a FMCG environment.
  • Experience of working in a customer‑led environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines.
  • A commitment to respond to changing customer needs.
  • Recognises and promotes continuous improvement.
  • Experience of working within a production environment.
  • Experience of working with packaging machinery.
  • Experience of customer, BRC, AIB and Retailer audits.
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office (including email, Word and Excel).
