A leading energy company in the UK seeks Operations and Planning Engineers for their Control Centre in Perth. The role involves planning outage programmes and supporting transmission projects. We have exciting opportunities for Operations and Planning Engineers to join SSEN Transmission in the Control Centre in Perth.
The team is responsible for ensuring programmes of planned operational and outage work have been coordinated with key internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining acceptable levels of network security, and supporting the GB Electricity System Operator (NESO) in reducing operational constraint costs. The role supports the delivery of strategic reinforcement projects and connections, including new High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems, FACTS devices, and large offshore windfarm connections.
We have opportunities in two distinctive planning periods – Current Year Planning and Future-Year Planning. Our Current-Year Planning Engineer would be responsible for the current working year, working in close collaboration with the Control Room Engineers. Our Future-Years Planning Engineer would be responsible for 1 to 10 years ahead, working with stakeholders across the wider Business to coordinate and prepare all future years’ programmes.
Appointment to either a Current-Year Planning role, or a Future-Years Planning role, will be open to an applicant’s particular area of interest, and subject to their background and experiences.
The roles seek experienced Operations or Planning Engineers, however there may be opportunities to build experience in the role and to follow a development programme to progress to the job grading.
