Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Site O&M Technician at Cowes OCGT Power Station.

Location

Location: Cowes, IOW, GB, PO32 6JS

Responsibilities

• Contribute towards delivering on the day to day Operational and Maintenance requirements by lone working at times with remote support from the Southern cluster team.
• Maximise the safe, reliable and commercial performance of the asset; you will be responsible for operating the plant and carrying out plant operational routines in line with our procedures, including fault diagnosis and breakdown recovery.
• Occasionally support the EA portfolio, which will require some travel around the UK.
• Manage site specific contracts and fulfil the role of Contract Engineer.
• Take on the duties of a safety Controller/Safety Co-ordinator.
• Carry out general maintenance of plant dependent on your competence.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of power and/or process plant operation and maintenance.
• Accredited as or working towards Contract Engineer status.
• Appreciation of the commercial aspects of the power generation business.
• Carrying out the duties of Safety Controller/Safety Co-ordinator under RWE Safety Rules.
• A flexible approach to work patterns, dependent upon seasonal operating requirements.
• Operations or Engineering qualification or studying towards an engineering qualification.
