Job description
Overview

You will be part of a fun, supportive team of skilled trainers within Active Prospects, a charitable social care and training provider based in Surrey. Active Prospects led the rollout of Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Surrey and Sussex as part of the Care Talent Collective. The organisation is the 2024 Employer of the Year at the Learning Disability & Autism Awards and the #1 large Care Provider in the 2025 Great Places to Work list.

Most training is delivered in Surrey and Sussex, with some courses occasionally delivered in other parts of the south-east. We aim to reduce travel and support work‑life balance by sharing courses across our trainer team.

Salary: £31,720 per annum (Full-time, Part-time or Freelance opportunities available)

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training (learning disability and autism) to people who work in health and social care.
  • Lead and support co-trainers who are specialists with lived experience in autism and learning disability.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and rollout of the training programme in Surrey, Sussex and surrounding areas.
  • Collaborate with the training team to maintain high quality training delivery and positive learner outcomes.
  • Manage travel arrangements and balance workload to support work‑life balance across the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ideal: in-depth understanding of learning disability and autism and some experience in training delivery.
  • Ability to lead and support trainers with lived experience in autism and learning disability.
  • Ideally a qualified Oliver McGowan Facilitator Trainer; training can be provided if not already qualified.
  • Willingness to complete the Oliver McGowan Facilitator Trainer training; failure to complete may result in withdrawal of the job offer.
  • Flexible to work across Surrey and Sussex; readiness to travel as required.
