What You Will Do
  • Perform comprehensive initial assessments for patients with various neurological conditions, including Stroke, Acute Brain Injury, and Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Treat complex and specialised cases in neurological therapy, applying a holistic understanding of the physical, cognitive, psychological, and social dimensions of illness.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, contribute actively in patient-specific MDT meetings, and assist in goal planning and report completion.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient management.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Recent experience in the UK as an Occupational Therapist, particularly within the NHS.
  • Registration with the HCPC.
  • Proven expertise in working with neurological conditions, especially in Stroke therapy, and confidence in managing complex cases.
  • A strong understanding of the relationship between various illness dimensions and current legislation.
