Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 enthusiastic nursing assistants to join us on Sandpiper Ward, specialising in the care of working age adults experiencing mental health conditions.

We provide 24 hour care within our purpose built assessment and therapy unit, working within a multidisciplinary approach that optimises each individual's recovery.

If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].

As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.

Main duties of the job

To carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care, in support of and under the supervision of a first level registered nurse.

The post holder will care for the patient's physical and personal needs, ensuring that a high standard of patient care is achieved.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSEs Grade A-C (4-9) in Maths or Functional skills level 2 in Maths (or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 2 in a care related subject or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in related subject or willingness to undertake a relevant Level 3 Apprenticeship

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic IT skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality

Experience

  • Previous experience of working as part of a team
  • Previous experience of caring for patients in either a clinical setting or personal experience
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in caring for others
