Job description
Leicester College

Leicester College have two on site Day Nurseries, offering a total of 75 places that provide high quality and inclusive integrated care and education to the children of students and employees.

You will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and caring environment for the children within our multi-cultural setting. You must demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with experience of implementing it in an early years setting.

You should be able to observe, plan, monitor, assess and support individual children's learning and development and maintain records of progress. You will be a good communicator who is highly motivated and enthusiastic, with extensive experience of working with young children in partnership with their parents.

You will role model and promote the setting's philosophy and ethos, showing empathy, tolerance and kindness. You will support an environment for child-led, play-based learning.

You should have the following:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification
  • Level 2 qualification in maths and English or the equivalent, e.g. GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above or the equivalent
