Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our established nursery nurse provision within Staffordshire 0-19 Family Health and Wellbeing service. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated Nursery Nurse to join our expanding 0-19 Family Health and Wellbeing Service. The nursery nurse role will offer one-to-one interventions to support parents/carers to develop skills and confidence in caring for their baby and to promote the mother and baby relationship. You will be involved in the development of the nursery nurse role within the service whilst building and maintaining relationships with other services. The role will involve working in a clinical setting across a geographical area, some home visits will be expected too. The nursery nurse role is a vital in contributing to the multidisciplinary team approach of care to families. We have provisions to work from several bases in the geographical area of Staffordshire in addition to home working, and remote working.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information, where persuasive, motivational, negotiating, empathic and reassurance skills are required as there may be barriers to understanding including language or learning difficulties.
  • To develop and implement an innovative approach to working with families and other agencies.
  • Professional childcare knowledge acquired through NNEB or equivalent and has attended short courses to enhance learning and can demonstrate this in practice.
  • To be able to adapt to a range of work procedures and practices which vary day by day.
  • To continue to develop skills through training.
  • To demonstrate significant experience working with children with complex needs.
