Job summary

An established educational recruitment agency is seeking a full-time Nursery Manager to join their team in Leyland from January 2026. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of EYFS management experience and possess relevant qualifications. Responsibilities include leading the nursery team, promoting the nursery's values, and overseeing enrolment procedures. This position offers either a temporary to permanent contract or a straight permanent contract for the right candidate. It is term time only with a salary provided year-round (pro-rata).

Job description

Key Stage Teacher Supply are working in collaboration with the Directors of a Nursery attached to a school, with wrap around care, in Leyland, with their recruitment of a Nursery Manager to join their team, full time, from January 2026. The position will either be temporary to permanent, or straight to a permanent contract, for the right person. The Nursery is term time only but if contracted, would be salaried all year round (pro-rata).

Key responsibilities
  • Lead smooth and efficient leadership and management of the Nursery.
  • Promote the nursery, school and company to all customers and visitors.
  • Lead, motivate, inspire and manage the team within the nursery, in a manner consistent with their conditions of employment, ensuring roles and responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures relating to the EYFS.
  • Be aware of the registration and regulatory requirements of the nursery as part of Leyland St James Nursery and after school club.
  • Lead effective communication which enables the smooth running of the nursery and to lead and organise regular team meetings.
  • Oversee the nursery enrolment procedures for new families, including prospective customer visits, enrolment administration and child induction processes.
  • Ensure that medical and dietary needs procedures are robust, accurate and effectively communicated.
Person specification
  • 2+ Years EYFS Management Experience.
  • Leadership/management experience or qualification.
  • NVQ L3 or above in Early Years (or Equivalent).
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Family Partnership working.
  • Excellent communication skills.
