Job description
Overview

This role will involve identifying, supporting, and delivering high-quality chest pain and arrhythmia services, including acute coronary syndrome (ACS), Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic (RACPC), and DC cardioversion (DCCV). The post holder will manage a caseload of patients effectively in accordance with agreed protocols and pathways of care. They will ensure a high standard of evidence-based nursing care by assessing the health, health-related, and holistic needs of patients, their families, and other carers, and by identifying and initiating appropriate steps for effective care.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, support, and deliver high-quality chest pain and arrhythmia services, including ACS, RACPC, and DCCV.
  • Manage a caseload of patients in accordance with agreed protocols and pathways of care.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care by assessing the health, health-related, and holistic needs of patients, their families, and carers, and initiate appropriate steps for effective care.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Cardiology experience (CCU/Cardiothoracic).
  • Current ILS/ALS certification.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., 998) and relevant educational cardiac care courses.
  • Ideally, advanced assessment skills course and a prescribing course, or willingness to undertake these two courses.
  • Currently enrolled in or working towards a relevant degree course.
  • Ability to travel to and from work and access any site within the Trust during a normal working day.
