Job description
Overview

The post holder will support the Head of Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities and Lead Nurse in the delivery of safe and effective safeguarding practice across the Trust, that places the wishes of the patient at the centre of decision making at every step. Support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its statutory and regulatory responsibilities to safeguard protect adults, children and young people. To work under the direction of the Lead Nurse and Head of Service to deliver the safeguarding adults, children and young people Trusts priorities.

Champion trauma-informed, person-centred practice and lead initiatives to reduce health inequalities experienced by children in care, care leavers, exploited young people, and families affected by domestic abuse. Provide operational direction and specialist guidance to colleagues and partner agencies to ensure that health needs are fully identified, assessed, and met, and that inequalities are proactively addressed. Lead on the development, implementation, and monitoring of safeguarding and child exploitation pathways for children, young people, and adults, offering advanced clinical expertise to frontline staff to support robust identification, assessment, and management of risk.

The post holder will provide professional leadership and expert advice to all Trust staff on all aspects of safeguarding. Provide high quality safeguarding training to staff at all levels of the organisation. The post holder will be a visible source of support for frontline clinical staff.

The Post Holder will work alongside the Named Nurse for Adults, Children and Young People. Oversee and support the Safeguarding Nurses and Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Advocate (DASVA). Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding practice are delivered to adults, children and young people at risk in partnership with all members of the internal and external multi-disciplinary team.
