As a Nurse Associate at STEPS you will be delivering hands-on, person centred care as part of our inter-disciplinary team. We are providing high quality holistic care support to our clients, who have complex care and rehabilitation needs whilst supporting the client to be as independent as possible.

You will work with and support an inter-disciplinary team of nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychology team and occupational therapists delivering care and rehabilitation.

As a Nurse Associate at STEPS you will be ensuring that our clients receive high-quality, holistic nursing care throughout their journey with us. You will work as a key member of the inter-disciplinary team to support our clients, respecting their privacy and dignity and promoting independence. Facilities

STEPS is a specialist rehabilitationfacility, able to deliver high-quality care from a range of medical andrehabilitation professionals. Our purpose-built premises in Sheffield, SouthYorkshire is home to a 23 bedroom, residential and day rehabilitationfacility. STEPS has been designed tofeel non-clinical, comfortable, and homely.

Rehabilitation

We have created a unique environment thatenables people to access a wide range of therapies, specialist robotic and VRrehabilitation equipment, and medical specialists all under one roof. Thisincludes access to Consultants in rehabilitationmedicine; spinal injuries, amputations, and pain management. We have anextensive team of clinical professionals, and the psychological therapiesteam includes two experienced clinical neuropsychologists, a neurologic musictherapist, an art psychotherapist and solution focused hypnotherapists.

We believe it is important to care for notonly our clients but their families too, we provide advice and educationabout their injuries or conditions. We work alongside other professionals andorganisations helping our clients, this includes the NHS, solicitors,barristers, case managers, insurance companies, prosthetic and orthoticspecialists, universities, and experts in rehabilitation technology.

Job responsibilities

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivering high standards of care to individuals and groups of clients under indirect supervision from the registered nurse and after appropriate delegation, who takes overall accountability and will sign off as agreed.

Assess and monitor the clients skin integrity and to report and document immediately any changes or concerns in their condition.

Demonstrate initiative and the ability to recognise/identify changes in a clients condition/treatment and seek advice and expertise from registered practitioners in accordance with STEPS policy.

Delivery of high quality, compassionate care whilst undertaking specific clinical and care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered care professional dependent) with a focus on promoting good health and independence

To provide wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required

To perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations and pulse

To administer medications and treatment as prescribed, monitor effects and report under the direction of the Nursing team.
