We are seeking experienced Nuclear Safety Engineers to join our team. Your role will involve delivering comprehensive nuclear safety cases, which may include justifying modifications to existing facilities, authoring top-level safety reports, and supporting nuclear vendors with licensing and GDA applications. You'll have the chance to work with a variety of clients across the UK nuclear sector, contributing to both current operations and innovative new build projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality nuclear safety cases, justifications, and papers to meet client demands.
- Deliver technical work to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance of facilities and systems.
- Apply your knowledge across a range of nuclear technologies.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to colleagues and clients.
- Manage projects to meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Identify new business opportunities and generate proposals and bids.
- Create and maintain client relationships.
- Collaborate with Nuclear Safety Groups to ensure safe deplanting of defueling stations.
- Craft and verify safety cases for Hinkley Point C, covering Fault Studies, Mechanical Systems, EC&I, and Electrical.
- Develop strategic safety board papers for complex design changes in critical nuclear plant components.
- Conduct regulatory engagements on Fault Studies and devise plans to address regulatory issues.
- Author key technical documents for the safety cases of Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, focusing on Hazards and Normal Operations.
- Produce high-quality safety documentation to meet client needs.
- Deliver work to ensure the safe operation and regulatory compliance of facilities and systems.
- Apply knowledge across nuclear technologies and contribute to both current operations and new build projects.
Qualifications
- A degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry, with some focus on nuclear safety.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations related to nuclear power.
- Proficiency in safety assessments, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in writing clear, concise safety cases that effectively justify design safety.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
