A local government authority in Fareham seeks a Data Protection Manager for a 12-month temporary role. This is a unique opportunity to work within a national policing unit. You will provide specialist advice and support to all UK police forces on data protection legislation, develop and deliver national DP training packages, and complete all Right of Access requests for the NPCC. The role offers the chance to influence national data sharing practices and work closely with the NPCC and external stakeholders.
The NPFDU supports flexible working requests. The successful applicant must work a minimum of 28 hours across 3‑4 days. Working hours can be discussed at interview.

The NPFDU has two main functions: managing and coordinating national Data Protection activity, and Freedom of Information. The Unit is hosted by Hampshire Constabulary and operates within the ACRO Criminal Records Office.
All staff are employees of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, and receive the same public‑sector benefits as other police staff.
