Overview

Nights Maintenance Engineer (Highly competitive salary + great shift uplift!)

Location: Petersfield

We are recruiting for 2 Maintenance Engineers to join a prestigious, fast-moving manufacturer in Petersfield. You’ll be working 4 on 4 off, 7pm–7am, nights.

The role:

This position is roughly 70% mechanical and 30% electrical. Typical electrical work includes sensors, motors, drives, solenoid controllers, and basic PLCs. You’ll be responsible for keeping production lines running smoothly, minimising downtime, and driving efficiency.

The team is currently shifting from reactive repairs towards proactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM). Weekday shifts are mainly breakdown response with some PPMs, while the 48 weekend hours on rota focus on PPMs, projects, and deeper fault investigations.

Each shift has 3–4 engineers, with four shifts covering the 24/7 operation. These vacancies are specifically for the 12-hour night shifts, created due to retirements and departures.

What we’re looking for:

  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production setting
  • Strong mechanical skills with sound electrical knowledge
  • Some PLC troubleshooting exposure
  • Confident communicator within engineering teams
  • Keen to continuously improve and develop
  • Eligible to work in the UK
