Job description

Senior Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN).
• Configure and install network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages and provide Level 2/3 support.
• Collaborate with network architects on network optimization and future enhancements.
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
• Maintain documentation related to network configuration, topology, and procedures.
• Work with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal performance and SLA adherence.
• Support disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in network engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Proficiency in configuring Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Palo Alto devices.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).

• Familiarity with firewall configurations, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems.
• Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• CCNA/CCNP certification is required (or equivalent).
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on government projects and customer facing projects.
