We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Farnborough delivery centre, focusing on project delivery for UK Secure accounts. The role is site-based, 5 days onsite per week, with DV clearance required.

Job Description

This role focuses on implementing remote network services for a DXC secure customer, covering LAN, WAN, firewall, and security infrastructures – primarily Cisco and Aruba. Candidates should have 5 to 10 years of proven experience in a multi‑vendor data centre environment and be part of a team delivering project engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain data network hardware and systems.
  • Investigate and resolve network and hardware issues.
  • Analyse, isolate and troubleshoot network errors.
  • Assess and upgrade legacy network components as needed.
  • Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
  • Respond to technical inquiries and recommend solutions.
  • Lead network problem escalation and resolution.
  • Mentor junior network engineering staff.
  • Install and maintain network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and system data for small to medium‑sized networks.
  • Deploy network applications on servers and voice equipment.
  • Conduct network testing, maintenance and problem resolution.
  • Perform network configurations and implement changes on routers, switches, firewalls, and security appliances.
  • Prepare network diagrams and documentation to reflect current operational status.
  • Draft proposal documentation to address customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
  • Conduct regular network performance tests.
Mandatory Skills
