Responsibilities
- Developing skills in a wide range of exciting projects
- Learning and using relevant design software and technology
- Being involved in client meetings and assisting in building key client relationships
- Understanding and learning digital skills to harness technology in new ways
- Receiving mentoring support while studying toward nationally recognised qualifications and accreditation
- Spending dedicated time at college or university to focus on studies
- Installing copper cabling components for Local Area Networking (LAN)
- Carrying out maintenance tasks on copper cable networks
- Identifying, locating and repairing common faults
- Installing fibre optic cabling components for LAN and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure
- Conducting testing on copper cabling according to manufacturer procedures, compliant with industry standards, and interpreting results
- Performing testing of fibre optic cabling using an optical loss test set and fibre inspection tool
- Analyzing copper and fibre test results and providing certification to the customer
- Preparing, constructing, and installing telecommunications equipment cabinets (pre‑built or from flat‑pack)
- Arranging and installing fixtures and fittings for the intended use
- Selecting network equipment components for cabinets, differentiating between switches and routers
- Working at height safely
- Working in confined spaces while implementing health and safety procedures and using personal protective equipment
- Applying health and safety working practices to keep oneself and others safe
- Analyzing plans, deciding on equipment types and quantities, and predicting time frames
- Assessing cable containment requirements and building suitable pathways using tray, basket trunking and conduit systems
- Installing end‑point equipment using fixings and media
- Interpreting customer statements of requirements to determine quantity and quality of components
- Quantifying equipment requirements and timelines for tasks
- Communicating with key stakeholders in the customer’s organization, including the CDM coordinator, project manager and IT security officer
- Maintaining cyber security by applying processes and procedures to protect data confidentiality

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: £24,500 per year.
Benefits include:
- 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays

- Training course: Network cabling installer (Level 3)
Schedule & Logistics
- Hours: Monday to Friday (flexible timings), shifts to be confirmed
- 40 hours per week
- Start date: Monday 7 September 2026
- Duration: 1 year 3 months
