A leading Defence consultancy in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Network Architect to design and implement secure IP networks for critical national infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in network design, familiarity with monitoring tools, and strong communication skills. Offering a competitive salary up to £75,000, along with benefits including a bonus and flexible working hours.

Qualifications

  • Strong track record of designing and supporting secure, resilient IP Networks.
  • Experience producing clear high and low-level design documentation.
  • Knowledge of core routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, LDP or RSVP.

Overview

Network Architect | Defence Consultancy | Hemel Hempstead | Up to £75,000 + 10% Bonus | DV Clearance Eligibility Required MERITUS are working with a leading Defence consultancy looking for a Network Architect to join a highly secure, fast-paced environment supporting critical national infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create and deliver detailed high and low-level network designs for complex IP environments.
  • Build and implement solutions using technologies such as Cisco.
  • Act as a point of escalation for third-line support on challenging issues.
  • Work directly with customers to understand needs and translate them into workable solutions.
  • Provide guidance and technical direction to colleagues within project teams.
  • Ensure solutions are properly documented and can be effectively supported once deployed.
Skills Required
  • Strong track record of designing and supporting secure, resilient IP Networks.
  • Experience producing clear high and low-level design documentation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SNMP, Syslog or similar.
  • Solid understanding of network security, including Firewalls, IDS and IPS.
  • Knowledge of core routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, LDP or RSVP.
  • Confident communicator, able to explain technical detail to both technical and non-technical audiences.
