Overview

NEC Supervisor / Maritime Clerk of Works

Location: Cardiff, Wales

Project: Coastal Defence Scheme

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Potential Extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £45.00 - £50.00 per hour (Outside IR35)

Hours/Days per week: 22.5 hours per week (3 days)

Responsibilities
  • Act as NEC Supervisor for works under NEC4 contract
  • Monitor and report on contractor activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Oversee construction activities including rock placement, concrete structures, and marine-related operations
  • Review method statements, risk assessments, and quality plans
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance on site
  • Work closely with the client, contractor, and consultant teams to manage day-to-day construction activities
  • Record and report progress, defects, and non-conformances
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a NEC Supervisor or Clerk of Works role under NEC4
  • Valid SMSTS certification
  • Strong background in civil engineering, ideally with experience in maritime or coastal projects
  • Excellent understanding of construction quality, safety, and NEC contract procedures
  • Right to work in the UK
