Job summary

A major health organization in Wales is seeking a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join their Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Lifestyle service. Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 6 Physiotherapist, to work flexibly in the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatient service in the East area of BCUHB.

This permanent role offers a split between working in MSK outpatients alongside the Lifestyle Management Program (LMP). LMP is a service offered to patients with BMI greater than 35 to prepare them for, or reduce the need for lower limb joint arthroplasty. The role involves individualised assessments and group sessions in community based gym/ leisure facilities, working with exercise professionals to improve the health and well‑being of this patient group.

The physiotherapy service in BCUHB offers a whole career pathway to Band 8A as an advanced clinical practitioner. Service improvement and development is encouraged and all staff have access to regular supervision and training.

Main duties of the job
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and motivated individual who has an interest in musculoskeletal therapy and the ability to engage well with their patients.
  • We need a therapist with excellent clinical reasoning skills in musculoskeletal medicine, who can work independently as well as part of a team under appropriate supervision, who is an advocate for post‑graduate training and who will fully support innovative ways of working, best practice and training.
  • The applicant should be able to demonstrate relevant musculoskeletal / orthopaedic experience.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
