Multi-Skilled Tradesperson

The closing date is 20 October 2025

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Tradesperson to join the Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Ltd estates team to work within our Building team in the estates workshop. The workshop provides a maintenance service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and external clients. You will need to demonstrate strong team working skills; have good experience of working in a maintenance role and be comfortable in working to targets and working on your own.

The post-holder will be required to work on the tradesperson on-call rota for which additional payments will be made on top of the stated salary.

The post-holder will be required to support the building and electrical workshops as required and within the capabilities of their skills.

Up to 33 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays).

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
  • City and Guilds/NVQ3 in a Carpentry & Joinery, Building or Construction related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrate you have a recognised apprenticeship qualification
  • Certified Fire Door Installer Accreditation such as BM TRADA.
  • oTraining in installation of flooring, wall cladding, plastering, painting or other trades as appropriate to the role.
Experience
  • Able to demonstrate significant experience in working in a relevant trade discipline both in terms of maintenance and installation work.
  • Experience of managing more junior trades staff and/or apprentices.
  • Significant experience of carrying out building and/or joinery installation work within a busy commercial environment.
  • Experience of using Computer Aided Facilities Management software to manage and complete jobs.
  • Experience working as a Competent Person in a relevant discipline.
  • Certified Fire Door Installer Accreditation such as BM TRADA. Training in installation of flooring, wall cladding, plastering, painting or other trades as appropriate to the role.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Able to utilise trade background to quickly learn new skills.
  • Able to source information to understand how to correctly install materials and carry out installation work.
  • Knowledgeable with regards to the statutory requirements that apply to installation work and able to find relevant information in documents when required.
  • Able to use hand and power tools to produce work to an excellent standard.
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings within area of expertise.
