Job description

Engineering Shift Supervisor We drive our own success and are looking for a dedicated Engineering Shift Supervisor to join the busy, active team at our food manufacturing facility in Nantwich, Cheshire.

Location & Shift Pattern

Location: Nantwich, Cheshire (UK). Shift: 4 on, 4 off, rotating between days and nights starting at 06:00.

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering team to deliver scheduled and reactive maintenance work, ensuring plant availability is optimised.
• Develop and manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes & packaging.
• Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering and production needs.
• Ensure compliance with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirements, and work safely.
• Own the dynamic risk assessment process and minimise engineering downtime; accurately log and monitor repair times.
• Liaise with planning and operations teams to allow for timely completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Log all stock in and out of the storeroom, highlighting any issues to the Engineering Team Manager.
• Maintain hygiene and good housekeeping standards appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
• Maintain GMP‑standard workshops and engineers’ toolboxes at a high level.

Qualifications

• Strong people management experience.
• Multi‑skilled technical background with experience in mechanical, electrical and production maintenance.
• Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
• Proficient IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Professional attitude with drive, enthusiasm and a willingness to travel to the site as required.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary: £60,000 per annum (starting 06:00) +/- £1,500 bonus. Signing Bonus: £1,500 (terms & conditions apply). Group Pension: automatic enrolment with company contributions.
