Overview

This exciting clinical leadership role is to join a small team of Clinical Leads within the MSK Physiotherapy Service at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

The main responsibility of this Clinical Leadership team is to provide safety and quality assurance for the MSK physiotherapy care provided to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

The Clinical Lead team work collaboratively with the Team Leads and Service Manager to ensure the service continually evolves to respond to the needs of the service users whilst managing the available resources effectively.

The successful candidate should possess comprehensive experience of working within an MSK setting at a senior level and hold highly developed clinical knowledge and skills to support team and individual development and the achievement of enhanced clinical outcomes across the service.

The successful candidate will take on audit and quality improvement projects, alongside supervisory responsibility for allocated teams and individual clinicians.

The role will carry a clinical caseload alongside these responsibilities. The successful candidate will be based at Hinckley Hub.

The clinical lead role requires the successful individual to support teams across Leicestershire County and Rutland (to be confirmed once successful candidate is in post).

Main duties
  • To support the Team Lead/Service Manager in the development and provision of an effective, efficient, and high-quality Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service.
  • In collaboration with the Team Lead/Service Manager, work to the strategic direction of the Community Health Services Directorate and the modernisation of therapy services.
  • To work effectively with other Clinical Leads to provide safety and quality assurance.
  • To provide strong clinical leadership and act as a resource, providing advanced clinical reasoning skills, specialist support and advice to other clinical staff.
  • To provide group and individual clinical supervision to clinical staff on a regular basis.
  • To have clinical responsibility for a designated caseload within the service.
  • To deputise for the Team Lead as directed and agreed with the Service Manager when required.
  • To maintain highly developed clinical knowledge/skills to support team and individual development and the achievement of enhanced clinical outcomes.
  • To support staff and deliver this role across several identified sites and teams across the MSK Service working in collaboration with other Clinical Lead Physiotherapists.
  • The Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service has both qualified and unqualified staff delivering services across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
