Job summary

A facilities management company in Cardiff is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias. The role entails performing planned and reactive maintenance across various sites, ensuring all systems are maintained safely and efficiently. Candidates should possess Level 3 Electrical qualifications and experience in Facilities Management. Training in IPAF and PASMA is preferred, alongside testing and inspection qualifications. The position offers a base salary of up to £41,000 and additional earnings potential with a call-out rota.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical qualifications required.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical plant required.
• Prior experience in the Facilities Management sector is preferable.
• L8 Awareness necessary.
• IPAF & PASMA training is preferred.
• Must be emergency lighting inspection qualified.
• Testing and inspection qualifications (2391 / 2394-01 & 2395-01) necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
• Handle building services tasks including BMS monitoring and emergency lighting repairs.
• Take ownership of remedials and small projects as required.
• Ensure safe and timely execution of reactive repairs.
• Report and rectify hazards observed on-site.
• Investigate and rectify technical faults.
• Support supervision of subcontractors.

Job description

Mobile Maintenance Engineer - Electrical bias

Locations: Cardiff, Newport & surrounding areas

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Salary: Upto £41,000 base salary, upto £43,000 OTE

Call out rota: Additional payment on top of salary, currently 1 in every 9 weeks, Monday – Sunday, to be discussed further at interview.

UK Driving license essential, a company van will be provided.

Position Overview

As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of sites in the South West, ensuring all building plant, equipment, and systems are maintained in a safe, efficient, and functional order.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete building services tasks, including knowledge and user management of the following: BMS monitoring / management, emergency lighting repairs, fire alarm systems, pumps, FCUs (service and repairs), AHUs, and all other HVAC plant
• Take ownership of remedials, quoted works and small projects works when required
• Water Treatment – to have knowledge and understanding of ACOP L8 and carry out water treatment tasks
• Ensure all reactive repairs are undertaken safely and within appropriate time scales
• Raising any hazards that arise on sites from reporting to rectification
• Support with investigation and rectification of any technical faults
• Liaise and support in the supervision of our sub-contractors

Skills & Experiences

• Level 3 Electrical qualifications and a good understanding of mechanical, electrical plant and overall building services
• Prior experience with the Facilities Management sector
• L8 Awareness
• A helpful and professional approach with direct contact with the client on a weekly basis.
• IPAF & PASMA trained (Preferred)
