Mobile HGV Mechanic – 50 Hours, 7 AM Start, On-Call & Overtime Available

Pay: £20.00–£24.00 per hour

Hours: 50 per week, 7:00 AM start

Extras: On-call, overtime, company car, flexitime, on-site parking

We are urgently looking for a Mobile HGV Mechanic to join a busy team. This is a hands‑on role working across a variety of vehicles and machinery, including road sweepers (Johnston sweepers) and bitumen spray tankers. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on‑site, keeping vehicles running efficiently.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel to client sites to inspect, maintain, and repair HGVs and machinery
  • Diagnose and repair engines, brakes, transmissions, and other mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic faults
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid checks
  • Keep accurate records of all work completed
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Mechanic, ideally on road sweepers and bitumen spray tankers
  • Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills for dealing with clients and team members
