Job Introduction

Mobile catering supervisor position covering various sites across the North, Yorkshire and Midlands. 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7. Occasional weekends to support when the business requires. Additional pay for on call weekends £12.81 per hour. Company van and fuel card provided.

As a Mobile Catering Supervisor at Sodexo, you’ll oversee catering operations across up to 10 Approved Premises within the region in various Approved Premises around the North, Yorkshire and Midlands. Your role will involve hands‑on supervision of your catering teams, daily engagement with staff and clients, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for everyone you encounter. Approved Premises (APs) play a vital role in supporting the safe reintegration of individuals released from prison, offering structured supervision, monitoring, and rehabilitation within the community. In this role, you’ll gain valuable experience working with complex and vulnerable individuals in a residential setting within the Criminal Justice System.

What you’ll do:
  • Carry out safety walks, conversation and supervise safety standards across area of responsibility, ensuring that our people and customers are always kept safe, whilst ensuring the site folder is up to date with all new and relevant policies.
  • Play an active part in the frontline team recruitment process.
  • Deliver all mandatory training within a given timeline and support with additional training needs to the front‑line teams.
  • Ensure effective force management that we have full coverage whilst monitoring attendance / absence and following policy and procedures around triggers and absence management.
  • Ensure staff records are accurately maintained and HR issues are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with Legislation and Company policy.
  • Conduct Safety management system audits for example monthly / 3 month on food safety.
  • Visit sites across the region (minimum of 3 sites a week) to conduct routine welfare visits for all staff throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Act as a first point of contact to address any issues that arise on site, from client or customer in a timely manner.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks and/or instructions as directed by line manager.
What you bring:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of catering/allergens/basic cooking skills, as well as some team leading experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years driving experience and over the age of 25 (Manual).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Can work at a fast pace and adapt to change when needed.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Be a team player and take instruction.
