Are you a fully qualified Driver with a D1 Licence? It is NECESSARY that applicants have a full licence and a D1 Licence. You MUST BE willing to work on a TEMPORARY basis and between the hours of 7.30-8.45 MONDAY TO THURSDAY and 7.30-8.45 and 13:00-16:00 on FRIDAY.

As a Mini Bus Driver your day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Drive the school minibuses in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ensure the safety, comfort and welfare of the children on the minibus.
  • Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance.
  • Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out and ensure the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
  • Refuel vehicles as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.
  • Maintain accurate records of the children using the service each day.
  • Maintain and help to promote a good school image while driving the minibus.
  • Work within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines that may be issued from time to time.
  • Plan alternative road routes to and from school when necessary and keep parents informed of any changes.
  • Attend relevant training courses as identified and agreed, including Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) training.
Requirements
  • Full licence and a D1 Licence.
  • Must be willing to work on a temporary basis during the specified hours.
  • Full registration with Aspire People, including providing right‑to‑work documents and obtaining an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check (cost £56, unless already registered on the update service).
