Job description

Overview

We need a Mild Steel MIG welder for a leading manufacturer of diesel fuel storage tanks and fuel management systems. Competitive salary GBP16 to GBP18 per hour (depending on experience).

The job will be based at Springhill Industrial Estate, Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire.

Mig Welder working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Overtime is after 42.5 hours, at 1.5 times the regular rate. Based on contracts secured, but anywhere between 5 and 15 hrs per week.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding up to 8mm plate, occasionally 20mm to produce fabricated oil tanks and associated products.
• TIG welding an advantage.
• Ability to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with a good penetration and quality.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and cut lists.
• Produce/maintain a level of output that will maximise production.
• Mig Welder Ability to work as part of a team.
• Use of overhead gantry crane and forklift full training given to right candidate.
• Ability to operate various tools.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG welding.
• TIG welding is a bonus but not mandatory.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and cut lists.
