Core Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Feedback: Monitor student progress through regular assessment, providing constructive feedback that helps pupils improve their fluency, writing, and listening skills.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of schemes of work and resources, ensuring lessons remain fresh, relevant, and challenging.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE examinations, equipping them with the exam technique and confidence needed to succeed.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and purposeful learning environment, employing effective behaviour management strategies to ensure all students can focus on learning.
  • Inclusivity: Differentiate lessons to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenge high achievers to reach their full potential.
Essential Profile
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS or a relevant teaching qualification ensuring you are qualified to teach in UK secondary schools.
  • Subject Expertise: A relevant degree in French, Spanish, or a related subject, with the ability to teach both languages confidently to at least GCSE level.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: A strong understanding of the current UK MFL curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for languages and culture, with the ability to transmit that passion to your students.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Compliance: Possession of an Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one promptly).
