Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to provide one-on-one and group support to students facing mental health challenges. The role requires experience with SEMH needs and a commitment to student well-being. Responsibilities include using trauma-informed care approaches and collaborating with teaching staff. Applicants should be able to pass an enhanced DBS check. Full-time hours are from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, and the position is based anywhere in the UK.

Qualifications

Overview

Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker – Classroom Based

Location: Anywhere, UK • Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm • Salary: From £89 per day

Contract Type: Temp with DBS on the update service required

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students experiencing a range of mental health issues, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Utilize a trauma-informed care approach to meet the emotional and educational needs of each student.
  • Implement individual behavior plans and de-escalation techniques to support students with ASC who may experience dysregulation.
  • Engage with students to build trust and rapport, enabling them to overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistency in the application of strategies to support students\' emotional well-being.
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, and external agencies when necessary to further the students\' best interests.
  • Monitor and evaluate students\' progress, keeping accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times, respecting the sensitive nature of the work.
