A great opportunity has arisen to join our Membership Department as Membership Liaison Adviser reporting into the Director of Membership.
This is a full-time role although part-time may be considered for exceptional candidates. Please advise in your application if you would prefer a full or part-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Dealing professionally and competently with members and their Policy queries
- Presenting and promoting our range of services to new and potential members to increase engagement, awareness and take up
- Supporting the membership administrators through the provision of training and advice in areas such as, Policy coverage, account management and credit control
- Promoting and projecting the benefits of VDS membership in talks to member groups and at Congresses
- Planning, management and implementation of VDS projects
- Attending and contributing to meetings and work of the Underwriting Group
- Liaison and support of other departments including IT, marketing, risk and compliance, finance and claims and VetSafe
- Ensuring the VDS is fully appraised of issues affecting the UK and Irish veterinary and veterinary nursing professions by organising events, focus groups and surveys of members
- Managing university accounts and student relationships including the VDS Student Club
- Managing relationships with recent graduate members including our recent graduate hub, sponsorship of the Young Vet Network and recent graduate event
Requirements needed for the Membership Liaison Adviser
You will be:
- MRCVS with at least 10 years’ experience and an excellent understanding of the UK and/ or Irish veterinary markets and the challenges currently faced by veterinary professionals
- A people person with excellent networks within the veterinary professions and enthusiasm to develop more
- A highly skilled communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills
- A confident public speaker
- A proven team player capable of managing projects and teams
- A highly organised motivated self-starter
- Ability to be flexible and work in various locations across the UK and Ireland
- Dependable, reliable and honest
Additional Desirable Skills
Whilst desirable these are not a set requirement.
- Strong writing skills with an ability to write clearly and persuasively in marketing and communication materials for our members
- Experience in farm and/ or equine veterinary work
