The Role

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in a hotel meeting and events department.
  • Previous experience in liaising with meeting and event organisers/clients.
  • Previous experience in the service of food whilst adhering to food safety/allergens laws.

Duties

  • Supervising the set-up and breakdown of large-scale Conferences, Dinners and Events.
  • Supervising the set-up and breakdown of smaller meeting/conference rooms.
  • To be a main point of contact for our conference and events organisers.
  • Customer and client complaint handling and resolution.
  • Take charge in the running of smaller scale Conferences, Dinners and Events in the absence of senior Meeting and Events management.
  • Supervision of all our team members in areas covering performance, personal presentation and time keeping.
  • Must be able to work a mixture of early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Occasional nightshifts are also required.

As a Meeting and Events Operations Supervisor, you are responsible for supervising Meeting and Events operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Meeting and Events Operations Supervisor will also be required to delegate tasks in line with function sheets and assist with meeting departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Supervise Meeting and Events operations
  • Communicate and delegate in line with daily function sheets
  • Able to work in all areas of Meeting and Events including Bar, Restaurant, and Room Service
  • Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Follow cash handling procedures
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas
  • Plan, organise and control the daily operations
  • Ensure compliance of brand standards
  • Represent needs of the team
  • Assist Food and Beverage with achieving financial targets
  • Assist Meeting and Events Manager with training and developing the team
  • Assist with annual and mid-year appraisals with team members under your responsibility
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Comply with local licensing laws
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
