An opportunity has arisen for a part time medical receptionist to join our friendly and hardworking GP practice to cover maternity leave.
GP Receptionist plays a crucial role in managing patient interaction and administrative taks within a general practice setting, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care
Patient Interaction: GP receptionists are often the firstpoint of contact for patients. They greet and assist patients, manage patientregistrations, and handle appointment bookings.
Administrative Duties: They are responsible for maintainingaccurate patient records, managing correspondence, and overseeing thepractice's appointment system. This includes processing requests forappointments and handling incoming phone calls.
Communication: Receptionists liaise with healthcareprofessionals, including GPs and nurses, to facilitate patient care and ensureeffective communication within the practice.
Digital Facilitation: With the increasing use of digitalservices in healthcare, GP receptionists are also involved in managing onlineappointment systems and patient portals, which requires them to adapt to newtechnologies.
Firdale MedicalCentre is a member of Northwich Primary Care Network. We currently look afteralmost 11500 patients as well as mentor and support one of the local nursing homes.
The practice is led by three GP partners, and we employ 6 salaried doctors. To complete the clinical team we have two nurses, health care assistant, a pharmacist, pharmacy technician and two Musculo-skeletal (MSK) specialists.
We are also teaching practice supporting foundationand specialty doctors.

A General Practice Medical Receptionist is responsible forvarious administrative and customer service tasks, including:
Greeting and directing patients: Act as the primary point ofcontact for patients, ensuring they receive the necessary information andsupport.
Appointment management: Book and manage patientappointments, ensuring smooth operations within the practice.
Administrative duties: Handle clerical tasks, includingfiling medical records and maintaining patient information.
Communication: Liaise with clinical staff, patients, andexternal agencies to ensure effective communication and support.
Customer service: Provide excellent customer service, beingpatient, empathetic, and able to handle challenging situations.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention todetail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
