We are seeking an experienced and scientifically driven Medical Affairs Advisor to play a pivotal role in supporting medical activities and launch for our HIV prevention portfolio in the UK. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive launch excellence in the first year of launch, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and contributing to overall success.

Launch Excellence
  • Lead and execute medical affairs activities post launch of our HIV prevention medicine, ensuring alignment with strategic brand goals and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide scientific and medical expertise to inform the development and implementation of the launch plan, including educational initiatives, advisory boards, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, market access, and regulatory teams to ensure optimal positioning and impactful introduction of the product to the UK market.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medical initiatives during the launch phase, identifying opportunities to enhance outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
Regulatory Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medical affairs activities, including the development, review, and approval of materials and communications.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory‑mandated materials, including those designed for risk management purposes, ensuring consistency with product safety information.
  • Partner with regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and other relevant teams to ensure seamless coordination of medical affairs deliverables in line with UK health authority expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Cultivate strong and trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders, serving as a scientific expert on HIV prevention.
  • Respond promptly to medical information queries and ensure the accurate dissemination of scientific insights and product‑related information to external audiences.
  • Represent GSK in medical and scientific discussions, including advisory boards, healthcare meetings, and congresses, providing expert input to drive impactful dialogue.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, market access, health outcomes, regulatory, and clinical development, to ensure alignment and consistency in strategy and execution.
  • Work collaboratively with medical field team, including medical science liaisons (MSLs) and nurse advisors, to deliver educational content, materials, and events.
  • Work within the strategic account teams to deliver relevant and appropriate materials to support appropriate education for healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in cross‑functional decision‑making forums, offering medical expertise to shape business strategies and support the achievement of organizational goals.
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure all medical activities are conducted in accordance with GSK policies, the ABPI Code of Practice, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay up to date on changes in the external regulatory environment and provide medical input to adapt processes as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent), advanced science degrees (PhD, PharmD), and candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, ideally within HIV or infectious diseases, with a focus on launch‑related activities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and processes related to medical activities and materials in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of the UK healthcare environment and the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MD) in a relevant field HIV, Infectious diseases, virology
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare systems and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with digital innovation in medical operations.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to convey complex scientific information clearly.
