Mechanical Engineering Trainer (Confidential)

Salary: £44,000 - £48,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Location: Livingston (classroom & practical delivery)

The Opportunity

A well-established technical training organisation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Trainer to deliver specialist training to engineers working in critical and regulated environments.

This role is ideal for a mechanically biased engineer with strong building services or plant experience who is looking to move off the tools into a stable, professional training position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mechanical engineering training to practising engineers and technicians
  • Teach safe systems of work relating to mechanical plant and infrastructure
  • Support engineers operating in hospitals, MOD facilities, and airport environments
  • Deliver training related to HVAC, air filtration systems, pressure systems and mechanical services
  • Ensure training materials and delivery align with current legislation and industry best practice
  • Assess learner competence and provide technical mentoring and guidance
Essential Experience
  • Strong mechanical engineering background (HVAC, building services, plant or process)
  • Experience working in hospital environments (NHS or private healthcare)
  • Exposure to MOD sites and/or airport infrastructure
  • Practical knowledge of air filtration systems and critical mechanical services
  • Confident communicator able to deliver technical content clearly
Desirable
  • Authorised Person (Mechanical / Pressure Systems / Ventilation) experience
  • Previous training, mentoring or supervisory responsibility
  • Strong understanding of compliance, permits and safe systems of work
