Job description
Overview

As a Mechanical Technician, you are building and assembling electrical/hydraulic control units, testing small directional control valves, and performing automated flush and pressure testing. You are working to engineering diagrams and drawings, ensuring assemblies meet quality standards, prescribed costs, and agreed lead times.

Responsibilities
  • Mechanically assembling hydraulic systems.
  • Flushing units to ensure they are hydraulically clean.
  • Fitting and torquing bolts in sequence to meet build standards.
  • Feeding back quality issues using company procedures.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards within the workshop.
  • Carrying out any other tasks as specified by the Team Leader.
Qualifications
  • Have the ability to carry out mechanical assembly.
  • Have the capability to read mechanical schematics.
  • Have good knowledge and use of hand tools.
  • Have experience in simple pipe fitting.
  • Have the ability to carry out testing and calibration on modules under guidance from test engineers.
  • Have sound mechanical knowledge of build processes.
  • Have strong teamwork skills and clear communication abilities.
  • Have a commitment to promoting company values through leading behaviors.
  • Have NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Assembly.
  • Have BTEC Level 3 or HNC in Engineering.
  • Have a results-oriented mindset with a proven track record.
  • Have a willingness to learn and adapt.
