Working for a multinational Engineering company based in Southeast London we are urgently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

A focused and reactive Multi-Skilled Mechanical Technician, delivering a combination of Mechanical/Plumbing tasks as a primary role, including reactive, quoted, and extra works including from time-to-time engineering services specialising in mechanical disciplines. Also, where competent to carry out electrical, water, building fabric, planned (PPM), reactive and extra works. The role is based on the Greenwich site and requires site presence. Requirement to work in tight spaces, and in plant rooms; working alone or in a team; and be comfortable moving/transporting tooling & access equipment of all sizes & weights. Some tasks may involve working with/on machinery, power tools, MEWPs and ladders. The role will require out of hours support and a rolling pattern of work that will include weekend /bank holiday working.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Mechanical service activities will include plumbing, mechanical fault diagnosis, minor installation works, manufacture of specialist parts where competent, completion of statutory servicing of site wide mechanical plant and completing statutory testing where required, certification of all works in accordance with the appropriate regulations and fault diagnosis of mechanical systems on site.
  • Ability and competence to conduct a variety of building & facilities maintenance tasks including, L8, HVAC, AHUs & compressors where required.
  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant, Inform the BES Manager if stock running low.
  • Respond to and monitor Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of completed and signed internal PPM sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with and upkeep of all records on as per client policies and procedures
  • Ensure that dynamic Risk Assessments are completed for all tasks carried out where no specific Risk assessment is available to ensure safe working practices.
  • Ensure that the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
  • Proactive in offering suggestion covering energy conservation opportunities
  • To provide cover for the other Site Service team members during periods of absence such as holidays / sickness as and when required (as far as reasonably practicable).
Education, KNOWLEDGE, and Experience required for the job
  1. C&G Mechanical Engineering and building services
  2. Plumbing experience/C&G desirable
  3. Experience of water compliance/L8/Pressure system/HVAC/ 5yrs Experience Plus
  4. Awareness of BMS systems
  5. Experience of Approved Person responsibilities desirable
  6. Ability to sign off a Mechanical isolation permit is desirable
  7. CSCS, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
