Overview

Branta is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a busy static site in central London. This hands-on role focuses on the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical and building services systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation while meeting all statutory and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, fans, air handling units, cooling towers, and gas-fired plant.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPMs) and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring works are completed to agreed standards and timescales.
  • Adhere to all health and safety legislation, statutory requirements, and organisational policies.
Essential
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance of building services, including HVAC, boilers, and associated plant.
  • Hands-on experience with reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Familiarity with statutory regulations such as Gas Safety, COSHH, and health & safety legislation.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating external contractors.
Desirable
  • Pipe fitting, plumbing, or general electrical skills.
  • Previous experience in large multi-site or commercial sites.
