Mechanical Estimator

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an Estimator to join their team in Horsham. They are open to hiring:

• An experienced Mechanical Estimator
• A trainee Estimator looking to develop a career

This flexibility means the role can suit someone with proven estimating experience or someone new to estimating with the right attitude and interest in mechanical or construction‑related work.

The Role

You will be involved in the preparation of accurate costs & tenders for mechanical and pipework projects, working closely with a supportive and experienced team.

• Preparing mechanical bids, tenders, and cost estimates
• Reviewing technical drawings & specifications to support pricing
• Using Cypher estimating software (full training provided where required)
• Liaising with engineers, consultants, & subcontractors
• Resolving design & costing queries
• Supporting project planning & pricing activities
• Attending occasional site visits where required to price jobs

The Candidate

Experienced Estimator

• Previous experience within mechanical estimating or a similar role
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems & construction projects
• Confident working with drawings, specifications & cost data

Trainee Estimator

• No previous estimating experience required – full training provided over a structured 2‑year programme
• Strong interest in mechanical systems, construction, or engineering
• Good communication & IT skills

The Package

• Trainee Estimator: salary up to £35,000pa DOE
