Mechanical Engineer
Location: Didcot
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Type: Full-time, Permanent
What You'll Be Doing as a Mechanical Engineer
- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
- Supporting prototype builds and mechanical testing
- Collaborating with production and assembly teams to ensure manufacturability
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues during build and test phases
- Working with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and reliability
- Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, including CAD models and SOPs
- Contributing to continuous improvement in processes, quality, and cost efficiency
What We're Looking For in a Mechanical Engineer
Essential
- A background in mechanical engineering, with hands-on experience in design and/or assembly
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and SOPs
Desirable
- Experience in a high-tech or precision manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of DfM (Design for Manufacture) and lean engineering principles
- Exposure to scaling mechanical designs for production
- Familiarity with writing and improving SOPs and technical documentation
