Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract opportunity in Guildford, UK. The role involves 3D modelling, manufacturing drawings, and supporting design changes within the space and defence sector. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience using SolidWorks. Hourly rate is £45.00, and SC clearance is necessary.

The Role - Mechanical Design Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a successful Advanced Engineering business.

Duties

• 3D modelling and design of components/ systems.
• Completion of manufacturing drawings.
• Implementing design changes using Engineering Change Notices
• Writing detailed assembly procedures and technical build information
• Creating and maintaining build logs
• Creating BoM’s and applying to MRP system.
• Support design of electronics enclosures.

Qualifications / Background

• Currently hold or be eligible for SC level clearance.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Preferably experience in the space and defence sector.
• Competent use of SolidWorks
• Good attention to detail
