LEAD INFORMATION

Job Title – Mechanical Design Engineer(Building Services)

Site location – Nottingham

Responsible to – Project Director

Purpose of the role – As an Mechanical Design Engineer you ll help breathe life into our clients designs by creating mechanical design models and drawings. You ll have the autonomy to design mechanical services in many sectors of the industry and will be client facing, representing our client at all levels. You ll also get to collaborate with architects, quantity surveyors, project managers and structural engineers from external design teams.

Client brief – Our client is a well–established leading engineering and environmental consultancy in Building Services with offices throughout the UK and around the globe. Their welcoming and diverse team are working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in the UK and across the world. From sustainability–focused offices and commercial premises to cutting–edge healthcare facilities and from award–winning retail developments to major new residential communities, you ll have the opportunity to play a major role in delivering schemes across a huge range of sectors.

Reason for vacancy – Continued growth

Contract – Permanent

Salary – GBP38,000 – GBP45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Holidays – 26 days + Bank Holidaysrising to 31 days with loyalty days + BH

Hybrid Yes, Possible hybrid working of 3 days in the office 2 days at home

Although we re happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you ll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:

  • Have a relevant degree or equivalent for a career in building services engineering
  • You ll be fluent in design software tools such as REVIT and ideally have had exposure to MagiCAD
  • You re a great communicator who can adapt to working with external parties and clients whilst gelling with our growing team
  • You ll have a deep understanding of project needs and will be able to manage their full delivery
  • You ll have recognised qualifications in mechanical services design and will either be working towards chartered status, or have an interest in doing so
  • You re happy working both autonomously or as part of a team to support the delivery of projects
  • Experience of managing people would be an advantage
  • You re happy to be flexible – We take a collaborative approach to delivering our projects and you ll be happy travelling and working with colleagues from across Waterman
