Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of project design and delivery, from tender development to project planning and coordination. You will assist in the creation of mechanical designs and specifications, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards. You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to review and approve project designs. Additionally, you will contribute to troubleshooting and ensure the proper implementation of project controls, documentation, and procedures. Regular site visits will be required to scope, verify, and resolve issues on both potential and active projects, helping ensure smooth execution and timely resolution of challenges

Qualifications
  • Batchelors degree in engineering / related field or equivalent preferable
  • Ideal would be a Chartered Engineer status and membership of professional institution such as IET, InstMC or CIWEM
  • Ideal would-be significant experience in the technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects
  • Excellent project management / organisational skills with ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent degree of computer literacy
  • CAD expertise and experience preferable
  • Field / practical experience
  • Excellent CDM and health and safety knowledge and application
  • Positive “can do” attitude with flexible approach to work
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Driving licence preferable (full, clean)
