Overview

Job Title - Teacher of Maths

Location: Chatham

Salary: £25,647-£27,540 per annum (subject to qualifications) + £1,700 market supplement for DET-qualified teachers

Contract Type: Permanent (full-time, part-time, or job share considered)

Hours: 40 hours per week (08:30 - 16:30, Monday-Friday)

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Maths to join Nacro's education team in Chatham. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people who may have faced barriers to education, supporting them to achieve their qualifications and prepare for future opportunities.

Role responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Maths teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to student needs.
• Monitor progress and provide effective feedback to help learners achieve.
• Assess student work in line with awarding body requirements.
• Support students pastorally, helping them build confidence and resilience.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment activities, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential requirements

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Strong subject knowledge in Maths with the ability to inspire learners.
• Compassionate approach and flexibility when working with young people who may have faced barriers to education.

Desirable

• Recognised teaching qualification (DET, Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
• Previous teaching experience in Maths.
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
