A local authority in Kent is looking for a Marketing Communications Officer to enhance recycling and reduce waste. In this full-time role, you will manage the entire campaign cycle, converting complex data into effective advertising. Candidates should be skilled in traditional and digital marketing, understanding behaviour change, and have solid experience in marketing communications. The position offers a supportive team environment and flexible working arrangements, making it an attractive opportunity for enthusiastic marketers.
Are you a marketer looking to make a big impact?
We’re looking for a Marketing Communications Officer to help us deliver our recycling and waste reduction goals.
We need someone to increase recycling rates and reduce waste across the borough by turning complex data into clear, compelling campaigns. Crucially, these campaigns need to reach key audiences where they live - not just those online.
You will take ownership of the full campaign cycle: analysing resident data, diagnosing barriers, and executing multi-channel campaigns that actually change behaviour.
You will be joining a supportive team with flexible working and the autonomy to help make the borough a cleaner, greener place to live, work, and visit.
This is a full time role, working 34 hours per week on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months.
Swale Borough Council is a progressive and ambitious Local Authority, located less than an hour from Central London in an attractive and diverse part of Kent involving urban, rural, and coastal areas. We believe that staff are our most valuable asset, and we’re committed to attracting and retaining the very best. In recent times we have adapted and evolved to meet the current world by introducing a highly flexible hybrid working policy, along with a 34-hour week, recognising that staff wellbeing and work life balance is high on our agenda.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, creative and organised with the ability to interpret data and translate into effective marketing campaigns across various channels.
You will have experience in marketing and communications, in particular behaviour change, with proficiency in the use of online marketing tools and analytics. You will have great written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to adapt to varying audiences as required and establish effective working relationships.
Following the submission of your application form, it will be reviewed by the recruiting manager. Those that are successful in securing an interview can expect job specific interview assessment, followed by an interview.
Swale Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all employee and volunteers to share this commitment.
