Marketing & Business Development Manager
Boutique specialist law firm

12 month FTC

London (full time or 4 day week considered)

My client is a leading boutique planning law firm, renowned for its specialist focus and outstanding reputation across England and Wales. Since its establishment in 2016, the firm has built a unique brand in the market, consistently recognised for excellence by industry surveys and legal directories. With a collaborative and dynamic culture, the firm offers a supportive environment where talented professionals can make a real impact and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver targeted marketing and business development initiatives to support client growth, promote the firm’s services, and raise its profile within the industry.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Marketing & BD strategy, reporting on progress and effectiveness.
  • Manage and report on Marketing & BD budgets, ensuring accountability and value for spend.
  • Gather and analyse industry, market, and client insights to inform strategy and identify trends, opportunities, and cross‑selling potential.
  • Maintain and update innovative marketing collateral, including credentials, pitch content, and brochures.
  • Organise a range of business development events, from client roundtables and webinars to major industry conferences, managing all aspects from invitations to ROI analysis.
  • Proactively identify and secure profile‑raising opportunities, including speaking engagements, sponsorships, thought leadership, and PR.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of pitches, coordinating all stages from initial drafts to final production and interview rehearsals.
  • Develop and manage press opportunities, draft press releases, and enhance the firm’s public visibility.
  • Oversee the firm’s membership of industry organisations, ensuring effective engagement and value.
  • Manage website content and social media channels, maximising engagement and leveraging current trends.
  • Lead the preparation of annual legal directory and award submissions.
  • Manage and champion the use of the CRM system (Hubspot), including planning and executing email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
  • Contribute to CSR initiatives and support the integration of the new Manchester office.
  • Plan and deliver a marketing campaign for the firm’s 10th anniversary in 2026.
Person Specification:
  • Senior Executive or Managerial level experience in marketing and business development within a law firm, built environment consultancy, or architectural practice.
  • Relevant marketing qualification (preferred).
  • Creative flair and strong attention to detail, ensuring high‑quality collateral and online content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, professional approach.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and the ability to work flexibly and independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in IT, including graphics, website design, pitch software, CRM systems, and social media channels.
  • Willingness to maintain a consistent presence in the office to support team collaboration.
