We are seeking the following position at our Sutton, MA location:

Manufacturing Technician 2C - Second Shift
Overview

The Machinist (Manufacturing Technician/Machine Operator) will report to their Shift Supervisor and be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also inspect parts to specifications and make adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC Horizontal Boring, Milling, Turning, and Grinding machines for various machining operations, including milling, boring, facing, turning, and grinding on a wide range of steel alloy forgings. Perform own setups.
  • Prove out new programs without a programmer's assistance.
  • Check tooling, setups, program coordinates, and other information to ensure quality parts.
  • Input corrections into the program editor as needed.
  • Make notations for changes or corrections in control.
  • Suggest improvements to shorten run times.
  • Analyze tooling, setups, and procedures; recommend improvements.
  • Load, unload, and pre-position work; inspect parts for conformity with specifications using gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Detect improper machine operation or faulty parts; shut down machine and notify supervision.
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously under proper conditions.
  • Perform mathematical calculations.
  • Complete conformance reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a machinist or equivalent education.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of measuring tools is essential.
