Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an initial 12-month contract in Derby. The successful candidate will ensure manufacturing processes meet design definitions and promote a culture of zero defects. Required qualifications include professional engineering credentials and strong knowledge in machining processes such as laser and milling. This role offers a salary of £49.35 per hour payable via Umbrella.

Qualifications

Overview

Manufacturing Engineer - Initial12 month contract

Salary: £49.35 DOE (Umbrella)

Location: Derby

Responsibilities

• Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design definition
• Promote a culture of zero defects and ensure that digital systems are developed and deployed
• Right First-Time manufacturing, guaranteeing product quality and conformity
• Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes
• Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Professionally Qualified Engineer
• Strong knowledge of machining processes (laser, grinding, milling and EDM)
• Strong analytical skills
• Proven track record in technical problem-solving, along with a solid understanding of Six Sigma / Lean methodologies.
• Proficiency with manufacturing systems such as CAPP, MES, SAP
• Knowledge of coating processes (plating, thermal spray and vapour deposition) is desirable
